(M. D. = doctor medicinae) 1807- 1881, a physican in Charleston, South Caroline, was author of many masonic publication. 1845 he published a "Lexicon of Freemasonry", and 1874 an "Encyclopaedia of Freemasonry" which saw several revised editions.
